Global Dengue http://www.cdc.gov/dengue/epidemiology/index.html#global (cdc – Centers For Disease Control)
Today about 2.5 billion people, or 40% of the world’s population, live in areas where there is a risk of dengue transmission see WHO/Impact of Dengue. Dengue is endemic in at least 100 countries in Asia, the Pacific, the Americas, Africa, and the Caribbean. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 50 to 100 million infections occur yearly, including 500,000 DHF cases and 22,000 deaths, mostly among children.
Children in this child’s neighborhood have already experienced dengue fever. You may ask; “How do you know this?” Reading this page will answer this question.
As a retired permanent resident of the Philippines, several of my fellow adult foreign friends– guys I talk with, have come down with dengue fever. No one is immune to mosquito attacks.
My wife’s teenage son, living in Leyte, was afflicted with dengue fever. Children in a townhouse complex in Mandaue City, where we once lived, were afflicted with dengue fever. Should you or I feel, it will never happen to us.
Dengue Fever & Severe Dengue Fever, according to this CDC Report is a growing problem in Europe, USA, South America too.
The very first item on my Bucket Wish Dream list (BWDL), concerns all of us to be mindful of, decreasing the death rates of innocent children who die a dreadful death.
Simply put! If in some countries, there was a national leadership role to orbit and even land on the moon; “Has anybody heard the same national leadership role, beyond talk, and printed statements, that have reduced such tragic loss of children’s lives?”
It is past-time to begin a Worlds People’s Campaign to save lives, children and adults alike. In the year 2013, we must use methods, non-poisonous, human and environmentally friendly, that make our communities undesirable to mosquitoes.
We must look beyond the toxic products, sold in stores around the globe, that are priced beyond the budgets of our poorest neighbors, living in set-aside marginalized communities. Any existing human friendly products, or, newly R&D Manufacturing & Distribution products we can promote or develop– must be affordable to all– all!
Countries that have garlic farm industries should take a look at this link Mosquito Barrier.
Individuals, families, communities, local and national governments, must be able to afford any new products or people motivated campaigns that are generated in the year 2013. This is not a 99% vs. 1% BWDL idea or proposal, it is 100% concept for all. Regardless of Color, Class, Race, Religion– humans are of one Global Origin, the Human Race
The theme of this blog, we should give this as the greatest gift we can give our global society. Let us begin the New Year 2013 as the year when:
- Deaths due to mosquito bites, children and adults alike, will be drastically reduced in 2013.
- Like unto this goal we attach the following: When a famine is forecast anywhere in the world, whether due to natural or human malice, relief will begin to flow towards the victims to save lives. No more pictures being ignored of disgracefully withering bodies of naked children.
In my next post, I will address the Philippine community and other nations that already have a garlic industry.
Pass this on or comment on this tip:
Drinking Green Tea will repel mosquitoes. As you sweat, your pores will be expelling properties that repel mosquitoes. Is this True of False. (this tip was recently posted to me)
I am hopeful, this bucket list desire, of a retired person will one day be a reality… /nm1938
